Care For Life - Suicide Prevention

Activities and Projects

Information based on evidence based research is provided to various sectors of the community to ensure good practice is adhered to. 'Care For Life' is represented on local organisations with a focus on suicide prevention, youth and bereaved by suicide.

These include: Rotary District 9640 Suicide Prevention Committee, Gold Coast Youth Network, Youth At Risk Alliance (YARA), and previously Gold Coast Youth Commitment and Gold Coast Health District Suicide Prevention Committee.

At a National level, Care For LIfe is a member of 'Suicide Prevention Australia' (SPA), and previously at State level a founding member of the 'Community Action for the Prevention of Suicide' (CAPS).

'Care for Life' participates in health and community activities/forums held on the Gold Coast.

Care For Life in 2004 held the first  World Suicide Prevention Day forum on the Gold Coast for community members. World Suicide Prevention Day takes place on the 10th September each year. Care For Life will recognise this day through an annual event on or around this date.
